Cmdr Brian Bourgeois, who was commanding officer of SEAL Team 8, died on Tuesday due to injuries he suffered in the Virginia Beach incident three days earlier.
Bourgeois, 41, is survived by his wife and five children. He had been with the Navy since 1998.
“He was a highly decorated officer and an incredibly talented SEAL,” Rear Adm. Brian Losey, head of Naval Special Warfare Command, said in a statement. “His loss is deeply felt by the entire NSW community.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Brian’s family during this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.
“After it happened, and I read that he had a wife and 5 children, I knew REDCON1 should do something. Then our resident SEAL, Zach English, brought him to the attention of our REDCON1 FOUNDATION & the team agreed.” – Aaron Singerman, REDCON1 Founder
One of the greatest blessings about REDCON1’s growth is that we’re able to use our platform to both donate and help bring awareness for others to donate. Especially when we are able to make a difference for the men and women who protect America and make it the best country in the world!
